Golden couple who met at work social club

A COUPLE celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family.

Alan and Carol Sellwood had a meal with friends to mark the occasion on Friday followed by a family party at their home in Crisp Road, Henley, on Sunday.

One of their gifts was a CD with music from the last 50 years made by their daughter, Helen, from St Neots, which they said would “bring back lovely memories”.

Mr Sellwood, 73, grew up in Dunsden and was an apprentice at Stuart Turner, an engineering company which has been based in Henley since 1906.

He then worked for Plint & Partners in Wokingham, a workshop in Henley and Aztec Services in Reading Road, where he remained until he retired.Mrs Sellwood, 69, was born in Henley and attended Henley Secondary Modern School.
