TRIBUTES have been paid to Ann Ducker, the leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, who passed away on Sunday after a short illness.
Mrs Ducker, 71, lived at South Stoke Farm, Wallingford, and for many years ran a family business with her husband Phillip, who died in 2001, with a particular interest in agriculture.
She was first elected as a Conservative councillor for the Goring ward in 1983 and had retained her seat at every election since.
She served as chairman of the council for two years from 1992 to 1994.
She became leader of the Conservative group in 1995 and leader of the council in 2003.
