AN open day will be held at Cross Lanes Fruit Farm in Mapledurham next Sunday (October 12) from 10am to 5pm.
The farm grows more than 50 varieties of traditional English apples and most will be available to taste along with pears.
Visitors will also be able to see how the fresh apple juice is made and compare the different varieties and beekeepers will be on hand to explain the importance of bees to fruit crops.
There will also be apple games for the children, such as who can create the longest piece of peel, and apple face-painting.
Stalls will be selling apple pies, cakes, muffins and jams and jellies as well as local cider and visitors can discover the art of besom making and other woodland skills. Live music will be provided by Colm and friends.
