A COUPLE who met on a blind date are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.
Tony and Patricia Herrington marked the occasion by holding a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The couple met in December 1963 when they were set up by a woman who knew Tony and whose daughter knew Patricia.
Mrs Herrington, 69, said: “It was almost a blind date as it was arranged for us. We went to the pictures in Reading.
“I remember that Tony turned up in a nice car — none of my other boyfriends had a car. I thought it was his but he had borrowed it from his brother.”
