Family’s farewell to Bomber Command hero

THE theme from The Dam Busters was played at the funeral of a Bomber Command veteran from Henley.

Alan Potter, who lived at the Chilterns End care home in Greys Road, died on Wednesday last week, 10 days before his 92nd birthday.

His funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Church in Greys Hill on Tuesday.

A Union flag was draped over his coffin to honour his service with the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.

Funeral director Bruce Jones, of Tomalin & Son, led the coffin as it was carried into the church by four pallbearers.
