Psychic appearance at second pumpkin festival

THE second annual squash and pumpkin festival was held at the Hardwick Estate in Whitchurch on Sunday.

More than 1,000 people attended the event, where attractions included a farmers’ market, food sampling and a psychic offering readings to visitors in a greenhouse.

There were stalls throughout the estate selling goods such as preserves and knitwear and a bouncy castle, face-painting and Halloween-themed play area for children.

Organiser Tamara Tolhurst said more people attended the festival than last year.

“The weather was the greatest gift — it was miraculous,” she said. “People went home late in the day and were very happy.
