New house refused

PLANS for a two-bedroom house in Charvil have been turned down.

PLANS for a two-bedroom house in Charvil have been turned down.

Rebecca Smith wanted to demolish a garage in Old Bath Road and build the house in its place.

But Wokingham Borough Council said the property would be “incongruous, cramped and contrived” and that Miss Smith had failed to prove trees on the site would be protected.

Charvil Parish Council had objected to the plans, saying the house would be cramped and out of character with the rest of the street, and neighbours said it would be overbearing.
