Holiday reads

CHILDREN in Wargrave will be able to take part in a Roald Dahl reading challenge this summer.

CHILDREN in Wargrave will be able to take part in a Roald Dahl reading challenge this summer.

The Big Friendly Read will see youngsters given special cards featuring drawings by Dahl’s illustrator Sir Quentin Blake each time they read a book from Wargrave library.

They will also be given a collector’s folder where they can store up to six cards.

The initiative has been created by Wokingham Borough Council along with the Roald Dahl Literary Estate, to celebrate 100 years since the author’s birth.

It begins tomorrow (Saturday) and runs until Sunday, September 11. For more information, visit the library in Church Street.
