THE library in Sonning Common wants children to take part in this year’s summer reading challenge.

The challenge celebrates a centenary of Roald Dahl’s birth with the theme ‘big friendly read’.

Children will be given six Quentin Blake illustrated cards to collect for each library book they read in the summer holidays from July 16 to September 17.

Children will be encouraged to read at least six library books of their choice over the summer holidays.

If the challenge is completed they also receive a medal and certificate. They can sign up at the library in Grove Road.
