Boost for charities

DONATIONS to the Mayor of Henley’s chosen charities for the year 2015-16 totalled £4,346.71.

DONATIONS to the Mayor of Henley’s chosen charities for the year 2015-16 totalled £4,346.71.

Councillor Lorraine Hillier, who held the office, split the money equally between Oxfordshire Mind, the Teenage Wilderness Trust and Thames Valley Animal Welfare and presented cheques to a representative of each body at a council meeting last month.

Fund-raising events included her civic dinner, which made £1,248.25, and the annual Santa Fun Run, which made £433.37. There were also several donations, including a cheque for £300 made payable to Oxfordshire Mind.
