HENLEY Town Council is considering providing shade in the toddler playground at Mill Meadows.

Dinghy sails have been suggested by Dr Carolyn Jenkins, landscape design officer at Reading Borough Council, who said they were lighter and smaller than yachting sails.

Town councillor Helen Chandler-Wilde told a parks sub-committee meeting last month that she’d had a meeting with Dr Jenkins where various possibilities were discussed, including shade cloth which offered UVA and UVB protection.
