Street name wrangle

COUNCILLORS in Henley are fighting to change the name of a new access road to Townlands Hospital.

COUNCILLORS in Henley are fighting to change the name of a new access road to Townlands Hospital.

Developer Amber Solutions for Care has suggested Laureate Gardens but councillors dismissed this and said they wanted Olympian Row instead.

However, South Oxfordshire District Council has said it may be too late to change the name.

Deputy Mayor Will Hamilton said: “I do not think we should accept that. It was selected by councillors. We should email again, suggesting it should be called Olympian Row. They won’t listen if we don’t try.”
