Bus service goes on trial

A TRIAL bus service for Kidmore End took place on Monday.

A TRIAL bus service for Kidmore End took place on Monday.

The parish council is working with the Fish volunteer centre in Sonning Common to run the weekly service to Reading and back on either Mondays or Tuesdays.

Villagers had been without a bus service since Oxfordshire County Council cancelled the M1 bus due to budget cuts.

The trial service will continue until Christmas and then be reviewed to see if it has been popular.

The bus will collect people from the Reformation pub in Gallowstree Common, the New Inn in Kidmore End and the junction of Kidmore End Lane and Chalkhouse Green Road.

It costs £4 but is free to bus pass users. Seats have to be booked by calling 0118 972 3986.
