Council debates hot air

A HEATER could be bought to warm up the council office in Wargrave.

A HEATER could be bought to warm up the council office in Wargrave.

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges told a parish council meeting that the office at the Old Pavilion in Recreation Road became very cold in winter.

He said one solution would be to install an over-door heater which would provide an “air curtain” for the office. This would cost £360.

Mr Hedges said: “It would be running on a fairly low temperature but would offer an air curtain. It should be on for two hours every day.”

Councillor Philip Davies said he thought the cost was “over the top” but chairman Richard Bush replied: “We are talking about the comfort of our staff.”

Mr Hedges said he would look at alternatives and report back.

He added: “It’s something I want to have looked at before winter.”
