Bus stop light call

A LIGHT could be installed in a bus shelter in Sonning Common to discourage youngsters from congregating there.

Parish councillor Anthony I’Anson has asked for the shelter in Wood Lane near the village hall to be illuminated following requests from residents.

He said: “It has been mentioned to me by a number of parishioners. The bus stop seems to be one of the focal points for some of the youth behaviour in the village.

“I want to know if there is an option for enhanced lighting.”

Councillor Tom Fort said he was happy to discuss the idea but that youths congregating there was more of a problem in the summer.

Parish clerk Philip Collings confirmed the bus stop was owned by the parish council.
