Budget increased to fund skate park

COUNCIL taxpayers in Sonning Common will have to pay more for services provided by the parish council.

The council has agreed to increase its precept by £16,500 to £99,000 from April 1.

The budget has been more than doubled to £201,782 to help pay for the new skate park in Bishopswood Sports Ground.

Other projects include refurbishment of the village hall, new equipment for play areas and the maintenance of hedges and fences.

Parish clerk Philip Collings said a new computer was needed for his deputy Ros Varnes.
