A SIGN could be installed on the side wall of jewellers Studio 35 in Duke Street, Henley.
Director Antony Reineke has applied to South Oxfordshire District Council for planning permission to hang the wooden-framed, hand-painted sign on the protruding wall. He said a lot of people failed to spot the shop front.
Henley Town Council’s planning committee has recommended the application is approved. Councillor Sam Evans said the sign would be small and stylish and brighten up the wall.
Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak said: “This sign reminds me of the old enamel signs that you used to get on walls. I think it will enhance it.”
Councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin said the sign wouldn’t have much impact, adding: “They should look what they have done at Fat Face, which I think is very attractive.”
