Now it’s turn of business to help plan development

BUSINESSES and students are being asked to contribute to the joint Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

A seminar will take place at the town hall from 12.30pm to 2pm on Tuesday and will include a presentation by consultants Nexus Planning.

Meanwhile, students at The Henley College are being asked to fill in a questionnaire about the town’s future, including ways to improve the centre. Councillor Dieter Hinke, who chairs the neighbourhood planning governance committee, said it was important that all sections of the community had their say.

“The neighbourhood plan is not purely about looking at sites for housing,” he said.

More than 200 questionnaires were completed by residents following two public consultation sessions at the town hall last month. About 450 people attended the sessions, which included an exhibition of the 19 possible housing sites and where developers, experts and councillors were on hand to answer questions.
