THE last remaining pub in a Henley street could be turned into a house.
Pub company Brakspear wants to convert the Rose and Crown in New Street, which closed in September.
In May permission was granted for the neighbouring Horse and Groom pub to be turned into a house.
The new house would have six bedrooms and the “coaching arch” to the side of the pub would be retained to provide parking for a car. Brakspear says the development would “enhance the significance” of the Grade II listed building.
The company’s planning application says: “The proposed works would not constitute substantial harm or total loss of significance of this designated heritage asset.
