Village loses broadband and phone for six weeks

THE managing director of BT Openreach has apologised to residents and businesses in Binfield Heath after they were left without broadband or telephone connection for up to six weeks.

Warren Buckley, who lives in Emmer Green, wrote an open letter to the village after meeting residents to discuss the problem.

Dozens of homes have been without coverage since mid-December until last week after the bad weather compounded problems with faulty cabling.

This coincided with the installation of fibre-optic broadband but Mr Buckley said this was not to blame for the problems.

Villager Cosima Wagner, 43, was without the use of her landline or internet for six weeks.
