Residents object to new homes on field

MORE than 30 people have opposed plans for three large houses on a field in Goring.

Frenbury Properties wants to build the 350 sq m detached homes on land east of Manor Road and applied to South Oxfordshire District Council for outline planning permission in December.

Since then, 29 households have submitted written objections, as have the Goring and Streatley Amenity Association and Goring Parish Council.

Opponents say the scheme is inappropriate development of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and would increase the flood risk in Manor Road.

Ron Murray, of Elmcroft, said: “The application appears opportunistic, not well publicised and timed to minimise available time to comment — not a good way to gain goodwill and neighbours’ support.”
