A BID has been made to achieve Green Flag status for Henley’s Mill and Marsh Meadows.
The award scheme is a national benchmark standard for parks and green spaces.
The town council failed in its application last year but has since introduced a formal management plan for the area.
Town clerk Mike Kennedy said: “We were a bit disappointed not to get it last year as it is a very prestigious award. It would show that the council is managing its asset.
“The council is looking at ways to improve the facilities that we have. We always look to go that extra mile and we have a proper management plan in place.”
