RESIDENTS in Peppard are to be asked for their views on a potential new bridge over the River Thames.
There have been fresh calls for a third crossing from Caversham to Reading, which would connect via the A329M, after weeks of traffic chaos caused by the floods.
Henley MP John Howell and Reading East MP Rob Wilson are to hold a summit meeting next month involving all the relevant authorities.
Peppard Parish Council chairman David Hammond said Mr Howell was aware of the concerns of South Oxfordshire residents.
He said: “The problem with the whole issue is that it’s uncertain what a bridge would do. It doesn’t take into account all the extra traffic coming off the M4 that would be deposited into South Oxfordshire.”
