Sign plea

THE name of Kingwood Common could be reinstated on a road sign.

Two members of the public have asked Peppard Parish Council for the village’s name to be added to the sign in Stoke Row Road that currently says “Rotherfield Peppard”.

They believe it causes confusion because drivers receive directions to Kingwood when travelling from Stoke Row but there is no sign to tell them when they have got there.

Council chairman David Hammond said: “There will be a cost attached to this but the fact it has been raised twice by different people suggests there’s a problem.”

The parish clerk will ask Oxfordshire County Council how much it would cost to replace the sign.
