Helpers needed

SONNING Common library is on the lookout for volunteers.

It follows a cut in staff funding by Oxfordshire County Council which will take effect in April next year.

The post of library manager will still be funded and a member of staff will be on duty for the 25 hours per week the library is open but volunteers are needed to assist.

About 28 hours of volunteer cover is needed every week and could be covered by 30 volunteers doing two- or three-hour sessions once a fortnight. Full training and support will be offered.

Anyone interested can attend a meeting at the library on Thursday, March 20, at 8pm, which will be hosted by the Friends of Sonning Common Library and supported by the council.
