THE redevelopment of Townlands Hospital in Henley has been given conditional approval, henleystandard.co.uk can reveal.
NHS Property Services said this afternoon that plans for the £8.7million health campus had been passed by its board.
A statement said: NHS Property Services has given conditional approval for the Townlands scheme to proceed.
This is subject to the resolution of a small number of commercial issues, which we expect to be resolved in the coming days.
The project, which has suffered nine separate delays and should have been completed three years ago, includes plans for an 18-bed hospital, a new Sue Ryder hospice, which will move from Nettlebed, a care home to replace Chilterns End and 44 homes for staff.
It is expected to open in May 2016.
See the Henley Standard on Friday, March 21 for a full report.
