Parking shake-up would benefit residents

RESULTS of a survey on parking in two Henley roads have been returned.

Oxfordshire County Council has been looking at Bell Street and Northfield End to design an improved road layout.

It follows the decision by the Department for Transport to reject a “stopping-up” order in Bell Street which would have meant giving away public land.

Marlow developer Chesterton Commercial had wanted to create nine new parking spaces outside 94 to 102 but the town council successfully argued against it at a public inquiry.

David Tole, principal engineer at Oxfordshire County Council, reported back to the town council’s town and community committee last Tuesday.
