Opposition to houses

PLANS to demolish a bungalow in Goring and build two homes in its place have been opposed.

Mr M Tull, who owns the detached Fifties property in Gatehampton Road, says it is in poor condition and must be replaced.

He says the new two-storey houses would each have four bedrooms and be of a similar style and height to neighbouring properties.

Mr Tull has also said the 0.19 hectare site would be screened by a new hedge and trees. Neighbours Henry and Elizabeth Parkinson have objected, saying the higher housing density would be out of keeping with the area.

Adrian and Brenda Pont, also of Gatehampton Road, did not object but said they were “concerned” at the size of the proposed houses.
