Majority of 150 respondents in favour of new skate park

MORE than 150 responses have been received to plans for a new £250,000 skate park in Henley.

A planning application was submitted by Henley Town Council last month for the facility in Makins recreation ground.

If it is approved by South Oxfordshire District Council, the Henley Skate Park Initiative can begin applying for grants. It has already raised £4,000 and the town council, which owns the land, has pledged £75,000.

The proposed 850sqm facility would replace the existing 500sqm skate park and a section of the car park.

The majority of respondents welcomed the plans.
