WOODCOTE’S neighbourhood plan has been approved.
The document, which recommends five sites where up to 76 houses should be built by 2027, was supported by 91 per cent of the voters in a village referendum on Thursday last week.
Just over 59 per cent of the parish’s 1,981 electors took part in the vote at the village hall.
The plan is now legally enforceable so South Oxfordshire District Council will have to take it into account when deciding planning applications.
Parish councillor Geoff Botting, who chaired the steering group of volunteers that put the plan together, called the referendum result “absolutely brilliant”.
