Election hint?

HENLEY town councillor David Clenshaw may have let slip that he is not planning to stand in next year’s elections.

He told the planning committee that he was not “excited” by an application for an extension to a house in Fair Mile.

When Deputy Mayor Martin Akehurst pointed out that our reporter had made a note of the remark, Cllr Clenshaw replied: “I have nothing to lose.”

He would have to move back to Henley from Bray in order to stand for re-election.
