Henley has 54 empty homes, figures reveal

MORE than 50 homes in Henley have been empty for more than six months.

They make up about 15 per cent of the 363 empty homes across South Oxfordshire.

The figures, which were compiled from council tax records, are revealed as the first draft of the joint Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan recommending where 400-plus homes should built is about to published.

South Oxfordshire District Council says the 54 properties in the parish of Henley are “domestic homes of various type” and some require major work to make them habitable The exact locations of the properties have not been revealed.

A council spokeswoman said: “The number of vacant homes in total and as a proportion of those in the district is small.
