Phone box planter idea

AN old telephone box is set to be adopted by Henley in Bloom.

The red kiosk on the corner of St Andrew’s Road and Belle Vue Road was bought by the town council for £1 from BT in November.

Now the council’s town and community committee has recommended that it is used by Henley in Bloom rather than to store a defibrillator.

Councillor Kellie Hinton, who chairs Henley in Bloom, said the group had some ideas of what to do with it, including filling it with plants.

Town and county councillor David Nimmo Smith had suggested moving the box to the town centre and using it to store a defibrillator.
