Calls to extend parish boundary

COUNCILLORS have reiterated their desire to extend the Henley parish boundary.

They want Highlands Farm, a light industrial estate off Greys Road, to be transferred from Harpsden parish into Henley.

The 83-acre site has been earmarked for 130 homes and a care home as part of the draft Henley and Harpsden neighbourhood plan.

Councillors proposed this move plus the transfer of Gillotts School and Henley leisure centre in response to a community governance review carried out by South Oxfordshire District Council last year.

The district council accepted Henley’s claim to the school and leisure centre but recommended that Highlands Farm stayed in Harpsden.
