£278,000 in council reserves earmarked

Henley town council will save a total of £200,000 over the next 12 years to pay for a new astroturf pitch.

The council has earmarked £16,667 a year in reserves to replace the pitch at Jubilee Park when it reaches the end of its usable life in 2024.

The astroturf was refurbished in 2012 and is currently used by teams including Henley Hockey Club.

More than £4,000 has also been earmarked for this year’s Christmas Festival, as well as £2,800 for repairs to a damaged building in Market Place.

A total of £2,000 was set aside for maintenance on trees in Tilebarn Lane and £7,900 for repairs at the Henley over 60s club in Market Place.
