New call for bus shelter

A FRESH bid has been made to install a bus shelter outside the Swiss Farm caravan park in Henley.

The town council was forced to shelve the idea last year when a resident objected, saying it would be too close to her hedge.

Now Keith Knight, who also lives at the park off Marlow Road, has urged the council to try again, saying that residents in the bus queues are being splashed with water from passing traffic.

Speaking at Tuesday’s meeting of the council’s traffic advisory committee, he said: “There is a big puddle due to road defects. Big four-wheel vehicles and lorries hit this and the spray hits people waiting for a bus.”

He was supported by Councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin.
