£25,000 spent on amenities

MORE than £25,000 has been spent on Woodcote’s outdoor spaces in the past year.

Woodcote Parish Council chairman Robin Peirce said the authority had spent £8,725 on repairs to the pavilion behind the village hall in Reading Road.

More than £4,000 was spent on replacing the flat roof, £2,300 on repainting it, £1,400 on replacing the clock mechanism and £660 on a new notice board and other improvements.

Just over £5,300 of this money came from South Oxfordshire District Council grants.

The council also spent £17,641 refurbishing the children’s playground on the village green. Most of this was spent laying a new multi-coloured soft surface.
