Keep out commuters

PARKING for residents only could be introduced to two Henley streets to prevent commuters using them.

Town and county councillor David Nimmo Smith has agreed to investigate the idea at the request of residents of Hamilton Avenue and Valley Road.

But he pointed out that their neighbours might disagree, saying the residents of Upton Close, where commuters also park, had consistently voted against restrictions.

Councillor Will Hamilton said reducing parking charges at Henley station would help stop commuters parking in residential streets.
