Pressure group chairman co-opted to parish

WATLINGTON has welcomed its newest parish councillor.

Keith Lovelace, the chairman of campaign group WATNEXT, was co-opted on to the council on Tuesday last week.

Mr Lovelace, who lives in Howe Road after moving to the town in 2012, missed out on the opportunity to become a parish councillor last month after current members voted overwhelmingly instead for mother-of-three Liz Winton.

Mr Lovelace fronts a design consultancy specialising in custom design and manufacture operating in the rail and transport sector.

The latest vacancy on the council came about following the resignation of Barry Adby.
