Stables could make way for new homes

TWO planning applications have been submitted to build new homes in Goring.

The first is at Spring Farm Stables in Wallingford Road, which Amanda Smithdale wants to convert into a pair of semi-detached bungalows. One would have two bedrooms and the other three.

Ms Smithdale, who lives next door at Spring Farm House, also wants to replace some of the timber cladding, enclose the porch and put additional lights on the roof.

Her architect Michael Waite Associates says it should get permission as consent was given on appeal to develop the neighbouring Spring Farm Barn in 2011. The second application is to demolish the house at Manor Croft in Little Croft Road and build three in its place.

Applicant Croft Development, of Eastfield Lane in Whitchurch, would put two on the site of the old house and a third in its rear garden. They would all be two storeys tall and have five bedrooms and a double garage.
