Air quality plan unveiled

RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on an air quality action plan for South Oxfordshire.

The district council will be consulting on the plan from Monday until July 4 and will hold a drop-in session for residents to meet council officers at Henley town hall on Thursday, June 12 from 6pm to 8pm.

The plan includes measures designed to improve the air quality across South Oxfordshire and will target areas of Henley and Watlington that suffer traffic-related pollution problems.

The council says it has been working with campaign groups to better understand the issues faced by residents and to collate knowledge and experience.

Councillor Anna Badcock, cabinet member for health and housing, said: “Air quality is an important issue for some residents in South Oxfordshire and we’re pleased that we’ve reached this very important stage in dealing with it.
