Coffee shop owner criticised over signs on historic premises

A COFFEE shop has been criticised over an unlawful sign.

Café Copia, which opened in Market Place earlier this month, installed the projecting aluminium sign and a new fascia without planning permission.

The fascia, which has been painted brown to match the company’s branding, has raised lettering.

The company says the design is in keeping “with the look and nature of the signs in the direct vicinity”.

But Henley Town Council has objected to its application for retrospective planning permission.
