£9m household waste deal extended to 2024

WASTE disposal company Biffa has signed an extended deal to collect household rubbish in Henley and South Oxfordshire.

The contract with South Oxfordshire District Council is worth about £9 million and will run until 2024.

A new kerbside collection of small electrical goods and textiles is being considered as part of the deal.

Simon Chown, business manager at Biffa, said: “We’re really pleased with the ongoing success we’ve had with South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse district councils.

“Now that the contract has been extended, we’ll be able to look at introducing new waste vehicles and making other improvements to our service.”
