Disabled man’s new house plans opposed by council

A DISABLED man’s plans to extend his home are being opposed by councillors.

Jeffrey Gosling wants to turn the property in Loddon Drive, Wargrave, into a four-bedroom home with a garage and wet dock.

Mr Gosling, who is confined to a wheelchair, previously applied to Wokingham Borough Council to knock down the existing property and build a three-bedroom house with a garage, wet dock, disabled ramps and extra wide doorways.

He also wanted to realign the Wargrave Court backwater, which passes through the property, to create two separate plots.

The plans were criticised by residents, who felt he was trying to over-develop the plot, and Wargrave Parish Council objected, so he withdrew the plans.
