Apple sculpture out of storage before visitors return

AN apple sculpture donated by one of Henley’s twin towns is to be put back on public display.

The 175lb sculpture was presented by the German town of Leichlingen two years ago and was installed in a flowerbed in Gravel Hill.

However, it was be removed after only six months because it had been damaged.

Apparently, people climbed on the apple and broke the stem.

Now it is to be put back in time for a visit to Henley by guests from Leichlingen later this month.
