From consultation to town referendum

THE consultation on the draft neighbourhood plan runs until June 27.

There is a fixed display in Henley town hall and there will be a drop-in exhibition in the council chamber on June 25 and 26.

Councillors held mobile exhibitions at Waitrose in Bell Street on Saturday and Tesco in Reading Road on Sunday.

Dieter Hinke, chairman of the neighbourhood planning governance committee, said: “We have had an extremely positive response so far — more than 70 per cent of completed questionnaires have expressed support for the plan. We have spoken to a lot of people who have congratulated us and I honestly don’t think we’ve received any major criticisms.”

Once the consultation finishes, the feedback will be reviewed and minor amendments may be made to the plan. The document will then be submitted to South Oxfordshire District Council, the planning authority, for independent inspection.
