A NEW public footpath is set to be created in Henley — three years after it was first suggested.
The circular route around 40 Acre Field, which is between Park and Prime Lane and Valley Road, was first proposed by Gill Dodds in 2011, when she was on the town council.
Oxfordshire County Council is expected to formerly dedicate the footpath, which runs through land owned by the town council, by the autumn and put up signage.
Mayor Martin Akehurst said: “I am absolutely delighted about this. The scenery there is beautiful and I can thoroughly recommend it.”
Councillor Ian Reissmann said: “I believe this is the first footpath of this sort to be designated in this area for 30 to 40 years.
