A DEVELOPER’S plans for a new five-bedroom house in Loddon Drive, Wargrave, have been opposed by the parish council.
Palatine Homes wants to demolish two existing buildings on the site of Meadswood to create the new property, which would be raised 2.2m off the ground to avoid being flooded.
The house would reach 10m in height and also have a 190 sq m raised decking area around the ground floor.
In 2012, Wokingham Borough Council refused permission for two new homes on the site on the grounds that this would be an “urbanised form of development” and damage the greenbelt.
Last week, the parish council decided to object to the latest plans on the grounds that the house would be too tall and the decking area would overlook the neighbouring property, Riverhouse.
