THE ban on barbecues in Marsh Meadows in Henley has been lifted.
The town council banned barbecues at the riverside beauty spot last summer, saying they posed a fire risk.
Now it has installed tree stumps with a steel plate nailed to the top where the barbecues must be placed.Galvanised bins have also been provided for used disposable barbecues.
Barbecues on stands are permitted but open fires are not allowed and litter must be taken away. A barbecue ban is still in place for Mill Meadows.
The satellite tourist information office is now open until the October half-term.
