ABOUT £5,000 will be spent on repairing and renovating a skateboard half pipe in Watlington.
It comes after the attraction was closed because a number of skaters was injured while using it.
Watlington Parish Council discovered that steel plates that form the skating surface had lifted from the frame because the wood underlay had rotted.
Chairman Ian Hill said: “There were a few people who fell and received cuts — nothing too serious — and it was thought best to close it. We couldn’t have left it as it was.”
The half pipe is in the recreation ground next to the sports pavilion, off Shirburn Road. It was installed in 1999 at a cost of £15,000 and paid for by grants.
